Musical Director

PR Dewhurst brings a wealth of musical experience to Scarborough Choral Society. He is Director of Music and Organist at Bridlington Priory, conductor of Hull Choral Union, and leads the East Riding County Choir and Beverley Chamber Choir.

Previously, PR Dewhurst held key positions at Leeds Minster, Pontefract Parish Church, and the Wakefield Festival Chorus. Originally from Ipswich, he studied music at Hull University (Organ Scholar) and completed a Master’s in English Church Music at the University of East Anglia.

As a conductor, organist, and singer, Paul has worked with prestigious ensembles including the cathedrals of St Edmundsbury and Chelmsford, the Wolsey Chamber Choir, and the Britten-Pears Chamber Choir.
